Low-Cycle Fatigue/TMF Testers

Instron LCF and TMF systems are used to determine the low cycle fatigue or thermomechanical fatigue characteristics and performance of various materials.

These 8800 test systems feature precision servo-electric actuators and high-stiffness load frames. With load capacities up to 100 kN, the 8860 models are ideally suited for simple-cyclic testing. These systems can be combined with furnaces for high-temperature testing.
Thermomechanical Fatigue (TMF) Systems simulated the complex mechanical and thermal cycling normally experienced by gas turbines and similar equipment during operation. A variety of servohydraulic and servoelectric systems are available, or a TMF system can be integrated with multi-axial systems, such as planar biaxial cruciform systems.

These servohydraulic fatigue testing machines are ideal for performing a variety of fatigue and dynamic tests, as well as static tests.
