AT6 6-Axis Robotic Testing System for Plastics
Instron Automated Testing System for Plastics is designed to perform unattended tensile and flex tests on Plastic specimens. Plastics testing is performed in accordance with the conditions established in ASTM D638 and ISO 527 for tensile testing, and ASTM D790 and ISO 178 for flex testing. The system architecture is very flexible and can easily be modified to accommodate other standards. The system utilizes Instron's TestMaster 2 automation control software which works seamlessly with our Bluehill® Materials Testing Software testing applications to give ease of control over specimen handling, testing, data reporting and results.
Specimens are tested in batches, size selectable by the operator. Barcode labels that contain specimen geometry, handling and testing information are affixed to batch separators. Once scanned this information is passed to the TestMaster 2 automation control software.
The system consists of a standard Instron Universal Testing frame, a non-contacting Advance Video Extensometer or contacting axial extensometer, pneumatic grips and air kit.

- Automatic ink transfer marking station to apply video targets - if video extensometer is selected

The AutoX 750 is a high-resolution, long-travel automatic contacting extensometer. It can be mounted onto any electromechanical 3300, 5500, or 5900 table top and floor model systems, as well as LX, DX, HDX, and KN static hydraulic testing systems. It is well suited for applications involving plastics, metals, biomedical, composites, elastomers, and more. The AutoX has a maximum travel of 750 mm and accuracy of ± 1 µm.
